China Glaze - It's a Trap-eze! (Cirque du Soliel World's Apart)

I'm soooo behind on posting.  I have so many great polishes to share, but never seem to have enough time to get my pics edited and posted expeditiously.  I have some Jessica polishes, Zoya, Color Club holos, AEngland, American Apparel and even a couple of Urban Outfitters polishes that need blog love asap!  Sometimes I wish I had an assistant, or a maid, or was independently wealthy.  Hmmm....
I had some vacation time over the holidays, but spent the majority of time in El Paso, TX with my family, so no blogging was done.  It's back to work on Monday and I still have to get all my stuff unpacked and put away and straightened out, but I thought I would at least sneak in a quick post of a nail polish I love love LOVE.

It's A Trap-eze is from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil World's Away collection.  It's the only one I thought was interesting enough to buy and so I did.  I love these types of glitter polishes - with the colored base instead of boring old clear.  They look so eye-catching and cool.  This collection was to coincide with the release of the movie World's Away.  I haven't seen it, but am kind of curious about it.  I'll likely wait for the DVD release if I decide to take a peek.  I have seen 2 Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas - Zumanity and Love and both were excellent and so fun to experience.

For this manicure I used my go to Orly Bonder base coat and 3 coats of Trap-eze and then topped with a thick and even coat of SV.  No issues with application whatsoever and dry time was totally normal.

Please excuse my overly oily fingers, I was having dry cuticle issues.  Grrr.

What do you think?  Have you bought any polishes from this collection?  Have you even heard of it?!  How about Cirque du Soliel?  Ever been to one of their shows?

I hope your holidays were happy!
Until next time ☺

Cleopatra in New York by Deborah Lippmann

There's not much to say about Deborah Lippman's Cleopatra in New York except when I saw it I immediately said "gotta have it!!".  Deborah Lippmann's website describes this polish as: gold studded black (glitter) new - limited edition!

Deborah Lippman really needs to start taking it easy on me.  I can't keep buying her polish because it will surely break me...but it's all soooo preeetty!!!  Ack!! What's a girl to do?  I always justify it by telling myself that at least I don't have a shoe obsession.  Shoes are waaay more expensive.  Fortunately for me, I don't currently have any other DL's on my "want" list or pinned so I can take a breather and so can my wallet.  For now.

Here's Cleopatra for you.  This manicure consists of the usual Bonder base coat, several coats of Cleo.  DL glitters seems to always be a cinch to apply, no need to use the glitter "splat" method (it's so glitter packed!) and dry time is no worry.  After drying, I topped it off with a generous coat of SV.

Is it just me or does DL have the lotsa-gorgeous glitter suspended in a colored base thing down to perfection?

I purchased Cleopatra in New York on sale via Amazon.com for $16.00 which included free shipping.  What a deal!

Do you have any DL in your collection?  If not, do you think you will ever give her a try?

Until next time.  ☺

Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection - Pudding Lane

So I thought that Sweets Way won the race in the Nail Inc Sprinkles Collection, but I was wrong, VERY wrong.  Pudding Lane is AWESOME!  It is so stunning - I can't stop looking at my nails!  Let's see what you think.
Per Sephora.com, Pudding lane is described as "teal with navy and gold sprinkles".

Let me warn you, the brush for this polish is very thick so you think you're going to have a hard time with the application, but it really wasn't too bad.  I was able to control things fairly well.  For this manicure, I used  my Orly Bonder base, 2 coats of Pudding Lane and 2 coats of SV on top to smooth it all out.  I'm on my 4th day with this manicure and it's still holding strong - Next to no tip wear at all.

My boss told me it reminded her of the pools at Hearst Castle.  I agree!

So has Pudding Lane convinced you that you NEED a new nail polish and this is the one your gonna get?  You can find the Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection at Sephora or Nails Inc for $9.50 a pop.

Until next time.  ☺

Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection - Sweets Way

I am so digging these kind of glitter polishes!  They are so fun and adorable.  I'm calling them NYAG's - Not your average glitters.  When I saw The Polishaholic's swatches for the new Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection, all I think of was 2 words:  Preeetty!! and WANT!!!
I picked up 2 of the 4 in this collection - Sweets Way and Pudding Lane (which I have on calendar to wear this week) @ Sephora last weekend for $8.50 a pop (the website says they are $9.50 but I could have sworn they were only 8.50 at the store - I could be wrong though).  It is very possible I may have to go back for Sugar House Way, because looking at the swatches again make me long for it so.  I'm still on the fence about Topping Lane though because it reminds me a little too much of DL's Candy Store.

Per the Sephora website the Sprinkles Collection is described as:
What it is:
An innovative nail formula that imparts a cupcake-topping effect.

What it does:
With just one product, this polish delivers a unique sprinkle effect. The glitter particles are mattified to give you the perfect amount of sparkle. Available in multiple pastel shades, each is named after the most delicious streets in London.
And Sweets Way is described as - white with pastel blue, pink and silver sprinkles

I have to once again apologize about my poor ragged cuticles in these pics.  I swear I have been saturating them with cuticle love, but alas, they are being resistant little rascals.

For this manicure, I used a base coat of Orly Bonder, then just 2 coats of Sweets Way and topped with a coat of SV.  Application was a cinch and dry time was speedy.

Until next time. ☺

Cookies n Cream Mani a la Sticks 'n Stones by Cover Bands Lacquers

Today's NOTD is cookies n cream.
I looooove this look.  Solid white polish topped with a black and white glitter.  Reminds me of cookies n cream ice cream (hands down my favorite ice cream of all ice creams).  Mmmm.....ice cream.  Hits the spot, especially during these hot AZ summer months.  Ii-iiice Cree-eeeeam.
Behold!  I started with my go to Gripper base followed by 2 coats of Snow Me White by Sinful Colors.  Then I used the "splat and smooth" method to apply Sticks 'n Stones by Cover Bands Nail Lacquers via Ninja Polish.  Topped with SV.  And presto!:

The white hexagonal glitter is so sweet!

Black and white bar glitter too!  Oh my!!

A little flicker of holo.  ☺

There you go.  What do you think?  Do you likey?  I sure do!

Until next time.  ☻

4th of July Mani - Lush Lacquer Midnight Affair + Essence Walk on Air

No time for jibber jabber tonight.  I'm going to try to head off to snoozeville early, but wanted so badly to share my beautiful new polish from Lush Lacquer called Midnight Affair.  It's glittery sparkle sweetness in a bottle.  I paired this baby up with a new Essence I picked up at Ulta a few weeks ago called Walk on Air (99¢ never looked so good!) and thought they really would make a nice couple.  So I married them.

Here's is their blissful union in pictures...

I started out a base coat of Orly Bonder, then 2 coats of Walk on Air.  I didn't use a top coat for the following pics of Walked on Air solo.  It shines that nicely all on it's own.  My thumb has 3 coats because I had an oops moment I had to repair.  Great drying time, no fuss application, even with the teeny tiny bottle.   This is just the right blue for the holiday too.  :)

I topped Walk on Air off with a single coat of Midnight Affair.  This polish is so glitter packed, it doesn't need much help.  The long skinny pieces are less desirable at the top of the nail, so I did pull those off if they were sticking out to make sure nothing hung off the edge of my nail.  It's also a tad thick, which made me a little nervous at first, but it was for nothing because I was able to control the application extremely well.  Drying time was pretty quick - a few minutes.  I used a top coat of SV to smooth everything out and voila!  A patriotic mani in no time at all.

FIREWORKS!!! Boom! Pow!

WOWIE WOW!!!

Oooooh!!!  Aaaah!!!

Lush Lacquer is an indie polish brand that you can buy on Etsy here: Shop @ Lush Lacquer.  Their full size polishes go for $8.75 each (+ shipping) and they also have a mini bottle sampler deal where you can pick any 4 of their custom blends for $19.00.  All I can say is there are plenty of wonderific glitter combos to choose from, so get 'em while their hot.

Happy 4th everybody!  Until next time.
