Forever 21 Nail Polishes - Sea Foam and Light Yellow

I went on a little bit of a bender the last time I went to Forever 21 with only the intention to pick up an accessory or 2.  Fortunately for my wallet, Forever 21's Love & Beauty brand is wonderfully cheap and I had some cred left over on a gift card, so the 7 polishes I bought didn't hurt one bit.  You can find Forever 21 polishes in their polish bins @ a store near you or online here: Forever 21

Here's a couple for you:

Seafoam  - This was 4 coats in order to reduce the VNL.  No top coat.  Love the shimmer! Reminds me of butter London's Victoriana.

And here's Light Yellow.  4 coats again, no top coat.  Also super shimmery...reminds me of an egg yolk.

What do you think?  You can't beat such cool colors for under $3.00.  It's practically unheard of!!!  I also picked up Confetti Crush which I am dying to use in a jelly sandwich, if only I could find the right color to sandwich it in.  I guess you'll have to wait and see what I choose.  Suggestions are welcome.  :)

Until next time.

More Deborah Lippmann Goodness - Mermaid's Dream

I am so in love with the majority of Deborah Lippmann polishes that are out there, I just wish they weren't so stinking expensive.  I only own about 6 or 7 for this very reason.  Unfortunately for me and fortunately for DL, my craving for new polishes runs very very deep and this was one of those polishes that made me say "I MUST HAVE IT!!!" when I saw it.
This is Mermaid's Dreams and is described by the DL website as" MERMAID'S DREAM seafoam splendor (glittered shimmer).  I would say that quite the accurate description.   I have never seen another polish even close to this one...yet, which makes it even more special.

For these photos I applied 3 coats topped with SV.   As you can see it's not a very smooth polish, but that's because it's chocked full of glittery shimmery goodness.
Also btw, I bought a new camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-WX150).  Yay!  It seems to be recognizing colors a whole lot better than my last Cybershot, which was hobbling on its' last leg after being only 2 yrs old (poor baby- I put it through the ringer).  It's so nice and takes such great pics that it makes me want to share more nail polish pics and other miscellaneous pics on here and I just might and you will be subjected to it and you will like it!

Until next time!

Cult Nails Super Powers Collection Swatches

Today we have a picture heavy post featuring the Cult Nails Super Powers Collection and it’s shining star Clairvoyant, aka Unicorn Puke (gorgeous!).   This was a four pack that I bought on sale over X-mas for $20.00 (or maybe it was $30.00, I can't remember) plus shipping.  Currently, this collection is sold out.  But you can see many many great polishes from this small and fairly new company here : Cult Nails
Let’s get this post started, which will be more photos than words.

First are some photos of the adorable packaging that the polishes came in.  So cute!  FYI - for all the manicures I used a minimum 3 coats and I used a top coat of SV for each.

Clairevoyant reminds me of a stained glass windows, it's so beautiful and colorful and vibrant.  I used this over a base of Time Traveler.  This will look fantastic over black or purple and I can't wait to try some different combos.  I took photos with varying light setting to be able to show off all the ranges of color.

Time Traveler - this one is actually a darker inky blue in the bottle vs what the camera captured.  The nail photos show the color more true to real life.

Power Thief - brownish beige shimmer

Mind Control - dark smokey/black base with purple shimmer

As you can see, while the other polishes are nice, Clairvoyant is the stand out of this collection.  I wonder if there will be another flakey that will show Clairvoyant up this year considering all the polish companies that are jumping on the flakey band wagon for 2012.  I say the more the better!  Same goes for magnetic polishes.  Can you say "china glaze"?  This is going to be a fantastic year for polish, my friends.  I can't wait!

Until next time...
